Anthem RC Earns Bonus Point on the Road
Tries scored by Fortune, Waitokia, Koller, and Apikotoa
BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (April 14, 2024) – Anthem Rugby Carolina earned another bonus point in the Major League Rugby standings with four tries scored in a 59-26 loss to the Chicago Hounds on Sunday afternoon. Anthem RC is not in action for Round 8 and will return to the Carolinas on Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. against NOLA Gold. This match will be played at Truist Point in High Point, North Carolina, and tickets can be purchased here.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Anthem RC got on the board in the 27th minute with a try by Te Rangatira Waitokia who received the ball from Conor McManus accelerating down the pitch after a penalty. Oscar Koller scored the conversion kick.
McManus added another try assist with a pass to Dylan Fortune in the 37th minute. Koller’s kick bounced off the post and out for an unsuccessful conversion kick.
Koller added to his Major League Rugby Top-10 season points total with a seven point try in the 55th minute.
Securing another bonus point in the league standings, Joe Apikotoa scored a seven point try in the 62nd minute.
