Anthem RC Acquire Wing Toby Fricker on Loan

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 17, 2025) – Anthem Rugby Carolina announced today the signing of wing Toby Fricker to a season-long loan from the New England Free Jacks. The London, England native most recently appeared for the Bristol Bears in the 2025 campaign, off the back of winning the MLR Championship with the Free Jacks in 2024.

Fricker made his USA Eagles debut against Fiji in the 2024 Pacific Nations Cup. 

“Adding a player of Toby’s quality at this stage of the season is a massive opportunity for us. Toby will add more veteran presence and leadership to our backline and we look forward to him making an immediate impact for us on the field”, Anthem GM, Mark Carney said. 

In 2023, Fricker joined the Ospreys in the United Rugby Championship and represented the prestigious Barbarians F.C. against Samoa. Four years prior, Fricker signed for Bristol. In his four seasons with the Bears, Fricker made 32 appearances and scored 12 tries.

A US-eligible wing/full-back, Fricker was named the Wales Premiership Newcomer of the Year in 2018 during his time at Ebbw Vale, and went on to represent Wales 7’s.
