Anthem RC Fall to Seattle Seawolves On the Road

Te Rangatira Waitokia records 50 caps in MLR; Dominick Iacovino scores first try in his first start with the club

TUKWILA, WA (MAY 4, 2024) – Anthem RC fell to the Seattle Seawolves by a score of 29-13 on Friday night at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, W.A. #11 Te Rangatira Waitokia celebrates 50 caps in Major League Rugby and #13 Dominick Iacovino scored his first try in his first start with Anthem RC. 

How It Happened:

Seattle was first to score in the 11th minute off a try from #2 DaQuan Perry, followed by a conversion kick from #10 Sam Windsor. 

Anthem did well to frustrate the Seawolves offense in the first half. The star found their first points in the 22nd minute from a penalty goal by way of #10 Cliven Loubser.

Seattle answered with a penalty goal in the 25th minute.  

After two strong attacks towards the end of the first half, Anthem scored their first try of the match in the 40th minute. Loubser was first to break through the Seattle defense and gain positive yards. He dished a pass off to Waitokia, who quickly found Iacovino who dove into the try zone for the points. 

With a couple lineup changes in the second half, Seattle began to break through with tries in the 55th, 59th and 69th minutes. 

Anthem’s Waitokia found the final points of the night, making it a memorable 50 caps in MLR.
