Erich Storti To Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

CHARLOTTE, NC (May 19, 2025) – Anthem RC rookie Erich Storti will undergo season-ending hand surgery in order to prepare for upcoming USA Eagles international matches this summer.

“While I can’t finish the 2025 MLR season on the pitch with my teammates, I’m proud of the progress that we made on and off the pitch, and the growth we experienced as a team,” said Storti. “I’m ready to get healthy and looking forward to being available for the USA team this summer as we look to achieve our goal of qualifying for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.”

Drafted #1 overall by Anthem in this past MLR Draft out of St. Mary’s College, Storti has continued to be a bright spot for the team in his first professional season.

The center got the start in the team’s first match of the season against San Diego Legion and proceeded to score his first MLR try.

Through 13 total games this season, Storti is 3rd on the team in minutes played (781), tied for 2nd in tries scored (2), 2nd in carries (96), 2nd in post contact carry meters (96), and 7th in the entire league in offloads (12). His individual success earned him MLR First XV honors in Week 3 and Week 7.

Storti figures to be an important figure this summer with USA Eagles as they compete in international test matches – including two here in Charlotte against Spain and Belgium – and the Pacific Nations Cup.
